Although certain wastes can not be accepted directly into a general skip, the waste can be collected and appropriately treated for you. Some wastes are not accepted in skips because they are dangerous. Wasteology can manage this type of specialised waste collection for you please follow the link Specialised waste types. The wastes that can not go in a normal skip are:
Electrical appliances, fluorescent light tubes, batteries fridges, freezers and air-conditioning units, TV’s and monitors paints (including residues inside paint cans), solvents, aerosols and gas canisters liquids, oil, fuel and other automotive fluids plasterboard, asbestos, tyres clinical or medical waste, toxic materials large tree trunks.

If a skip is to be located on a public highway / road a skip licence or sometimes called a skip permit is required. Wasteology can apply to the appropriate local authority before the delivery takes place.

Access is important for our lorry to delivery the skip where it is required. That is safe.
Important safety and legal information
It is of upmost importance that you do not forget that you are legally responsible for all the contents inside
the skip. This means that you must ensure that any and all of the waste disposed of using the skip is suitable for disposal in general waste and meets our terms and conditions.
This means that items of waste such as plasterboard gypsum cannot be disposed of through our skip hire waste disposal services. With regards to plasterboard, we can provide specialised collection services for plasterboard gypsum disposal. Alternatively you could choose a Dumpy Bag service which is a disposal container which is 1 cubic meter in size and can hold up to 200kg and is recommended for items of waste which are required to be collected separately for environmental legislation purposes, such as plasterboard (Gypsum based construction waste WC 17 08 02).
It is also very important that you do not dispose of waste irresponsibly. This includes overloading the skip. An overloaded skip is a hazard; the lorry may struggle to lift the skip and the overfilled waste could be a danger to other people as the skip is being lifted or transported. So, please make sure that the contents of a skip never exceed the height of the skip’s sides.
Finally, please remember that you must never set fire to waste in a skip.
